After an extensive recruitment process, experienced sports administrator Olivia Birkett has been appointed the new Tennis West CEO.
Birkett has more than 20 years’ experience in the sports industry, most recently with Triathlon Western Australia as Executive Director. Previously, she held leadership roles at Tennis West since 2020.
Tennis West President Rod Van is excited to have Birkett lead the team following a joint recruitment process undertaken by Tennis West and Tennis Australia.
“We are delighted to welcome Olivia Birkett back to Tennis West as CEO. Throughout her time with our organisation she demonstrated a clear commitment to our team, culture and clubs and is a well-respected leader in WA sports.
“I’m excited to return to Tennis West and looking forward to continuing the delivery of our strategy, strengthening relationships with key stakeholders to secure our future in WA and providing leadership and stability to our team,” Birkett said.
“On behalf of everyone at Tennis West, we would like to thank Cam Pearson his wonderful leadership and support he has provided throughout the process,” Van continued.
Birkett will commence in the role in February.
