Tennis West is excited to launch the new branding of the WA Open Series in time for the WA Open starting on September 2nd.

With a storied history dating back to its inception in 1896, the WA Open Championship has long been a cornerstone of Western Australian tennis.

The WA Open has seen some big names win in the past with Renae Stubbs, Evonne Goolagong-Cawley, Margaret Court, Lleyton Hewitt, Wally Masur, John Fitzgerald, Marisa Gianotti and Maddison Inglis all winning the prestigious trophy.

The WA Open stands as one of WA’s premier events, showcasing exceptional local, national and international talent on our local calendar. Last year, Ethan Dunn triumphed over Ashwin Sharma in the men’s competition, while Laquisa Khan emerged victorious against Monique Barry in the women’s division.

The future plan for the WA Open Series includes the WA Open Championship, WA Junior Open and the Seniors State Championship. For this year fans will see the updated branding at the 2024 WA Open and 2025 WA Junior Open.

The refreshed branding features the outline of the WA map and embraces the striking colors of our state. The vivid ochre, reminiscent of the iconic red earth and golden sunsets of the outback celebrates our connection to the land and its natural beauty, as well as the warmth and resilience of the people who call WA home.

Entries for the WA Open are open with both draws cut to 32 players in total. Entries close 25th August.

Entry is free for all spectators, and the cafe will be open for each day of the competition of the WA Open beginning from Monday, 2nd September.
