The final lists for the Perth International ITF W75 have been confirmed with the top three seeds all from Australia.

The Women’s ITF World Tennis Tour provides the entry level of professional tournaments, enabling players to reach the higher-level tournaments on the WTA tour.

This year the total prize pool has been increased from $25,000USD to $60,000USD while also offering more WTA world ranking points.

WA’s Talia Gibson goes into the Perth International as the top ranked seed ranked 172 in the world. Gibson will be out to go one better this year after finishing runner up in both Perth Internationals to Aussies Priscilla Hon and Taylah Preston. Gibson comes off an impressive run in the US Open and Wimbledon qualifying where she made the final round of both Grand Slam qualifying rounds but fell short on securing a main draw spot.

Australian Destanee Aiava (world No.180) also returns to Perth looking to improve on her results from last year. Aiava made the semi finals of the Perth International #1 going down to eventual winner Priscilla Hon and made the quarter final of the Perth International #2 going down to Talia Gibson. The 24-year-old comes straight from the US Open where she successfully went through qualifiers and made the first round of the main draw.

The third seed and well-loved West Aussie Maddison Inglis also returns home to the Perth International. After mixed results at last year’s Perth Internationals, Inglis found form in April winning the ITF W100 Tokyo Open – the biggest win of her career then followed it up with an impressive Wimbledon qualifying campaign, falling short in the final round of qualifying for the main draw.

Other notable entrants include Japanese pair Aoi Ito (world No.229) and Haruka Kaji (world No.265) who are the top ranked women from Japan competing in the Perth International.

India’s best ranked women’s player Ankita Raina will also line up in the Perth International. The 31-year-old has won one title on the WTA Tour and one WTA 125 tournament (both in doubles), along with 11 singles and 25 doubles titles on the ITF Circuit.

Other Australians in the main draw include Melisa Ercan (world No.340) and Petra Hule (world No.372) who both made it to the quarter-finals last year.

There will also be plenty of Aussies vying for a spot in the main draw with a long list of players competing in the Perth International ITF W75 #1 Qualifiers. Australian’s Gabriella Da Silva-Fick, Alexandra Bozovic, Lizette Cabrera, Elena Micic, Alana Parnaby, Alicia Smith, up and coming junior Tahlia Kokkinis, Alexandra Osborne and Bianca Compuesto.

The qualifying draw will consist of 32 entries in which eight will go through to the main draw of the Perth International ITF W75 #1.

Tennis West CEO Olivia Birkett was excited about the prospect of welcoming some of the best up and coming talent from across the world with the event’s elevation in status from a W25 to a W75.

“The increase in status also allows our up-and-coming local and Australian talent and those players around the world to come to Perth and compete for increased prize money and world ranking points.”

“Seeing our local superstar and grand slam players like Talia Gibson, and Maddison Inglis back in Perth, competing in front of their friends and family is wonderful for them and the WA tennis community.”

“Outside of the United Cup, the Perth International ITF W75 will be the biggest professional tennis tournament in WA this calendar year.”

“Having such a high-quality event here in Perth is a great opportunity for young aspiring kids to watch some of the best up-and-coming players play,” said Olivia.

Entry is free for all spectators, and the cafe will be open for each day of the competition of the WA Open and Perth International ITF W75’s. The event is also an important opportunity for the selected United Cup Ball Kids to gain valuable match experience ahead of the United Cup in December.

Come watch the next generation of tennis talent compete at the State Tennis Centre.
