The Tennis West League Operations has finalised the fixtures for the 2024/25 Tennis West State League Competition.
Off the back of the success from last year, this season will see a total of 21 games played under lights on a Friday night. 15 of these matches will be in the Men’s competition with Peppermint Grove, UWA and Mt Lawley/Sorrento all to play their home games under lights.
The other 39 scheduled matches will be played at the traditional timeslot of 1.00 pm on a Saturday afternoon.
The season begins next Friday night with UWA hosting Mt Lawley/Sorrento in the men’s while last year’s women’s premiers Hensman Park will host Royal Kings Park.
After a one-year hiatus, Royal Kings Park return to the men’s competition and will open their campaign with a home game against last year’s finalists Peppermint Grove on Saturday. The other Saturday men’s match features reigning premiers Cottesloe host Alexander Park – two teams familiar with grass courts.
In the women’s, Dalkeith host Peppermint Grove on Saturday afternoon while Alexander Park will welcome new team Cottesloe to their courts.
The State League season will see a total of 10 home and away rounds this season with all teams playing each other twice. There will be a bye round on the weekend of November 15-16 between rounds four and five with a Christmas break after round six. The home and away rounds will then resume from Friday 7th February 2025.
The final’s structure has changed from last season. This season, the top four sides in both competitions will proceed to the semi-finals (to be played on Saturday 15th March 2025) with 1st place hosting the 4th place side while 2nd place will host the 4th placed side. The two winners of the semi finals will then play in the final with the highest place team at the end of the home and away season to have the home ground advantage.
Both the men’s and women’s finals will be played on Saturday 22nd March 2025.
