The 2025 Fuel to Go and Play Schools Tennis Classic has successfully concluded, marking another milestone in Western Australia’s largest tennis participation tournament.
This year’s event saw over 1,200 players from both metropolitan and regional areas compete throughout February and March.
Founded in 1935, the annual tournament is a collaborative effort between Tennis West and School Sport WA, with support from Kinetic, Maxiblock, and Healthway promoting the Fuel to Go and Play message. Primary and secondary schools from across the state participated in local team-based events, with regional competitions held in the Great Southern, Upper Great Southern, Central Districts, Eastern Districts, and Southwest zones.
Tennis West’s Schools and Pathways Officer South, Radu Vaidean, expressed his delight at the tournament’s success, noting the impressive participation numbers and the display of talent across the board.
“The Fuel to Go and Play Schools Tennis Classic in 2025 has been a huge success across both metro and regional WA, showcasing great talent with an increased number of total players, teams, and schools compared to previous years.”
“It was fantastic to see so many schools and kids participate, highlighting the significance of the classroom-to-clubhouse model. Seeing the kids celebrate their achievements and the joy these events bring them really reinforces just how much this tournament means to them.”
“We are proud to support a pathway that enables students to compete and represent their schools at local clubs through this prestigious event.” Said Radu.
Tennis West extends its gratitude to Andrea Rundle, Davina Biglin, Shannon Slade, and Royce Puccinelli for their invaluable contributions to making this year’s events a success.
The tournament featured several categories, with schools competing for top honors. Congratulations are in order for not only the winners, but all those that participated in this years Fuel to Go and Play Schools Classic.
